Board of Elections & Registration
The Heard County Board of Elections and Registration was created in 2017 through House Bill 461.

The Board consists of three members, all of whom are approved by a majority vote of the Board of Commissioners. Vacancies are filled by the Board of Commissioners after careful consideration of recommendations from the existing members of the current Board of Elections and Registration.

The current members of the Board of Elections and Registration are:

Robin S. Smith – term ends July 1, 2027

Alice Holmes
– term ends July 1, 2028

Jane D. Barker (Chairman) – term ends July 1, 2025

The Election Supervisor conducts the day to day business of the Board of Elections and Registration. The Supervisor is hired by the Commission Chairman from a list of prospective candidates provided by the Board of Elections and Registration. The current Election Supervisor is Charles Tonnie Adams.
The Board of Elections and Registration meet at least once each month to conduct needed business. Meetings are open to the public.
