Purpose:

Responsibilities:

To ensure all Heard County buildings and nonbuilding structures meet the building codes set forth by the state of Georgia.

Review of all building applications for compliance.

Conduction of inspections related to the proper construction and maintenance of buildings in Heard County. Inspections help insure public safety, health and general welfare.

Enforcement of current codes in relation to building, fire prevention, grading, housing, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and swimming pools.

Maintenance of the County Address System

Purpose:

To establish minimum standards for the use of land and improvements within Heard County.

Responsibilities:

Interaction with citizens, businesses, and developers to assist with the understanding and implementation of the Heard County Zoning Ordinance.

Review of various applications for compliance with Heard County Ordinances.

Preparation of various reports, packages, and presentations for Planning Commission, Commissioners, and public review.

Communication of the appropriate process and review with all interested parties.

Acknowledgement of the decisions of appropriate boards and ensure records reflect accordingly.
